Who Never Changes?

Not these guys....

Last week they were #1,
This week they're probably not.

But,

Jesus Christ is the same...
Yesterday
Today
and Forever
Hebrews 13:8

The UK Wildcats are having a great year, but they can't be number 1 forever.

Jesus will always be number 1.

7th Heaven

Anytime my grandson Aaron talks about his papaw he calls him "my Papaw in Heaven", probably because he has another papaw that lives right next door to him. :-)

January 27 is Roger's birthday. His 7th one in Heaven. I know there are no tears in Heaven, so I can picture him looking down on his grandchildren and....

....smiling.

We all miss you Papaw.

RETRO ME

This is me about 34 years ago.

The trouble is, when I look in the mirror I see this...

...and I say...

"Who are you and what did you do with Sheila?"

My Heart Is HIS Throne-2010 Goals

Well, I was going to resolve to lose weight this year...walk more...be healthier. But I resolve that every year and always break it! Maybe if I just say it is one of my GOALS I might do better. Have to wait and see. I am always so half-hearted about things like that. I love to eat and I don't love to exercise. I do love to walk my Daffy Dog but it has been so cold lately....(see what I mean? Excuses, excuses). But there are a few things I am passionate about resolving. Can't do it by myself. Well, can't do anything by myself for that matter. But I am rambling. I need God's help in 2010 to achieve my goals. And here they are:
1. I want to STUDY God's Word and not just read it. Even if it means I don't read through the Bible in a year. I want to take time and really study.
2. I want to HEAR Him when I pray and not just talk.
3. I want to be OBEDIENT when I know He is speaking to me.
4. I want to LOVE Him more.
5. I want to LOVE my neighbor as myself.
6. I want to be a better mamaw, step-mom, MIL, sister, friend, Christian.
7. I want for people to KNOW when they look at me that I have Jesus inside!!!
Please, if you read this, pray for me to reach my goals!

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering WE MET GOD'S GOAL!

Christmas Tree Lighting 2009

We set our goal for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at $12,200 this year. But somehow on the banner the goal got written as $12,500. Well, apparently, God had His own idea about the goal, because our treasurer has reported that with the cash we have already raised and the pledges made we will meet or exceed the $12,500 mark!! Our God amazes me!! Please continue to pray for all our international (and of course our North American) missionaries...for clean water, good food, a comfortable place to stay, language skills, people of peace, opportunities to share the Gospel, encouragement, joy, peace, provision and protection.

Sweet Dreams

First of all let me say I am a diabetic. Have been for many years. I don't enjoy it but it is part of my life. I am also a choc-aholic. Well really I love candy of any kind. But especially at Christmas.

I have so many good friends at work and one of them makes wonderful candy every Christmas and shares with us all. Even if we're diabetics. I took mine to my sister's (who is also a diabetic) Christmas Eve so I wouldn't eat it all by myself. Notice in the picture the little Snickers Santa on my easel? That was a sweet gift from my boss. I didn't think to take a picture until I had already bitten his head off. I am so thankful for my insulin pen that comes out every time I have sweet times of cheating! Alas, the Christmas candy is all gone now, but I can still dream of it everytime I see this picture...sigh...and then eat a sugar-free peppermint!
